ABOUT US

HISTORY
Hi, I'm Aida! In October 2021, when I was 19 years old, I started this adventure under the name Inirt Atelier. Inirt was the name in reverse of my grandmother (Trini <> Inirt). And its rocking chair was the brand's logo. I created it in a moment of mourning for her loss and I wanted to pay tribute to her. Because she was the one who taught me to sew, knit and create with patience, from her rocking chair.

Until one day I felt that I needed to let her go and move forward. So I played with the letters of my last name, Rigual, and Alú came up, and from there ALÚ ALÚ, because there are two of us on board this ship: my mother and I.

THE SEA, MY INSPIRATION
I have always felt a special connection with the sea, my grandfather was a fisherman and my grandmother mended the fishing nets on her boat.
I have studied Marine Sciences and Technologies at university and have discovered species as captivating as nudibranchs, which have become my source of inspiration.

CIRCULARITY
I grew up surrounded by fishing nets. At my grandparents' house they were everywhere and my grandmother reused them to make curtains.
Following their legacy, we reuse the nets discarded by fishermen, to give them a new life.
This is how the Siracusa Collection was born.

OUR SECRET
Our bags have 4 layers of different technical fabrics, such as 3D neoprene, which provides structure from the inside and allows us to work with all types of fabrics, creating volume without rigidity.
We know that small details make the difference, that's why we prefer to sew all the accessories by hand: the magnetic clasp, the rings to attach the chains, etc.

KNOT BY KNOT
In ancient times, knots were used as a symbol of protection and good luck.
They have always been present in my family: my grandfather made them to secure his boat; my grandmother wove them into the nets he used to accompany him to the sea.
I grew up among nets, learning to see in each knot something more than a shape: a story.
Today I continue that tradition with the April Moon Collection, jewels that I hand-knit with waxed thread, knot by knot.

SUSTAINABILITY
Our designs include a small wallet with a zipper closure, made from recycled plastic bottles (RPET).
Our protective cover is made of recycled cotton, made by a national company that carries out its production using ecological processes, which reduce the environmental impact.
Our packaging is made of ECO cardboard with official certification FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), which guarantees that the materials used come from responsibly managed forests.

Our social commitment drives us to collaborate with associations that dedicate their efforts to research into various diseases.
Being a supportive brand is also part of our responsibility.
